What is Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP)?
With the aim of solving car theft and cloning syndicates and preventing vehicles with outstanding fines from leaving the country, all categories of vehicles covering private vehicles, commercial vehicles, and embassy / government-owned vehicles that wish to enter Malaysia are required to register for Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP).
How To Apply the VEP ?
The users can register for a permit online at the VEP website. Then the users will be contacted via email for confirmation of the postage arrangement. Finally, the users will receive the VEP-RFID tag via postage.
How much is the VEP tag?
The VEP tag is free but the riders need to pay 10 MYR for the administration fee. Moreover, the VEP is valid for 5 years and the riders need to apply for a renewal at least 6 months before the expiry date.
Can one VEP tag be used for more than one vehicle?
No. The VEP Tag is unique for each vehicle and couldn’t be used on another vehicle for whatever reason.
