The new year is almost approaching. What better way to take your mind off of work than by riding your motorcycle through off-road or take a leisurely trip through peaceful settings. As you ride through striking scenery, picture the wind brushing over your face.
But let’s face it, Singapore doesn’t have many routes that can provide you with this authentic motorcycle riding enjoyment. So where do you go if you want to have a leisurely ride before meeting up with your buddies for dinner?
1. Singapore Round Island Loop
Only started to welcome its visitors in January 2022, the Round Island Route is the longest recreational connection with 75km-long corridor that loops the island, stretching from Rower’s Bay Park in Seletar to Berlayer Creek near Labrador Park.
Finishing this island loop is certainly a huge life achievement. The minimum distance to get around this route is around 120 km, and you will travel through a combination of roads, park connectors, and gravel. Therefore, we only advise intermediate or advanced riders to attempt this trip.
There are some very awesome benefits to completing this challenge, even though the route’s length alone can be a little scary. You can travel to the Lamp Post 1 at Tuas or see the sunrise from Punggol or East Coast Park, or bike through the serene nature of Kranji.
2. Mandai Road
Drive along Mandai Road, one of Singapore’s oldest thoroughfares, in peace and tranquility. This shaded boulevard is situated along the lush foliage of Upper Seletar Reservoir and it offers a pleasant driving experience. You will be surrounded by the dense secondary forest as you travel past rows of mature Rain trees with their extensive canopies.
Built in 1855, the route connected agricultural and poultry farming areas such Bukit Mandai, Sungei Mandai, and Nee Soon Village. It served as one of the primary links between Woodlands and Upper Thomson.
3. East Coast Parkway (ECP)
You must have heard of East Coast Park at least once in your life. Why? Because it’s one of Singapore’s most beloved urban retreats, offering a variety of athletic, leisurely, and culinary options.
From Sheares Bridge to Changi Airport, a 15-kilometer section of road offers the most gorgeous scenery of those on our list. You will travel through the town’s commercial district, where you can see the Singapore Flyer and the Central Business District (CBD) in all their splendor. It’s without a doubt the ideal way to begin or conclude a night out in the city.

4. Thomson Road to Mandai Road
Just over 10 kilometers long and largely wide and straight, Thomson Road makes for a serene motorbike trip. You can enjoy a motorcycle trip along the MacRitchie Nature Trail, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, and the Chestnut Nature Park when combined with Mandai Road (8 km).
This route is most preferable to travel after rush hour, when there would be less traffic to worry about getting stuck in. However, you must always abide by the traffic laws and driving restrictions. When riding your motorcycle, keep to the left to show consideration for other drivers. Additionally, we do not advise using these roads too late at night by yourself.
